Be At The Perfect Guy Première

poster_005The new thriller movie The Perfect Guy is less than a month away now.

US cinema goers can see it from the 11th of September general release date.

However, the official film première is due to take place a few days before that on the 8th of the month.  It will, not surprisingly, be happening in L.A. but at the time of writing the exact location has not been published.

I’m sure that members of the public will be able to catch a glimpse of the movie’s stars on the red carpet but, if you want to be a bit more certain there is something you can do about it.  And be charitable at the same time.

The film’s promoters are taking the opportunity to raise money for three different charities.  In return for their generosity donors can get special gifts.  The Omaze website is hosting the sale of the rewards.  They range from $10 donation to the charities, $100 for a t-shirt, all the way to $5000 for a Skype chat with one of the them.  Only the three main stars (Sanaa Lathan, Michael Ealy and Morris Chestnut) are mentioned.

Each entry is added to a prize draw.  The winner of that will get the VIP treatment including a flight to L.A. and a 4-star hotel stay.  There are no specific details but I’m assuming that will only be available to US residents.

The three charities are the The Lustgarten Foundation (funds research into pancreatic cancer), HerShe USA (supports girls in foster care as they become adults) and the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (supports children’s hospitals across north America).

You can read all the details and make pledges at the Omaze website HERE.

We don’t know if Kathryn will be present at the event.  Fingers crossed for an appearance.

Bone Tomahawk Closes Popcorn Frights

popcorn_frights_film_fest_960x380And so it continues… again…

Not content with closing the Fantastic Fest Film Festival with its world première, Bone Tomahawk will closing the Popcorn Frights Film Festival just 3 days later.  It won’t be the film’s première, but it is the first running of the horror film festival.

11pm, aka ‘the witching hour’, on October 4th at the O Cinema Wynwood, Miami is when the horror western starring Kurt Russell is being screened.

The Popcorn Frights website HERE has all the details.

Bone Tomahawk To Première At Fantastic Fest

fantastic_fest_2015_poster_1013x1500And so it begins…

The genre-crossing film festival Fantastic Fest has announced that Bone Tomahawk will receive its world première at the event later this year.

S. Craig Zahler’s horror western will be the closing night film, presumably meaning it will be screened on the 1st of October 2015, the last date given.

Fantastic Fest takes place at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas and kicks-off on the 24th September.

Bone Tomahawk stars Kurt Russell (Overboard) as a Sheriff who sets out with three other men to rescue a group of captured townsfolk from ‘cannibalistic cave dwellers’.

Kurt and his co-star Matthew Fox (Lost) are both understood to be attending the première screening.  We can only hope that Kathryn, who plays the Sheriff’s wife in the film, stands by her man (Kurt or Johnny, we don’t mind as long as she’s there) at the event.

See the recent post here on KM UK for a few photos of Kathryn in costume.

In a not so genre-busting move all the details about Fantastic Fest can be found on the official website HERE.

Kathryn @ Scooby-Doo Première 2002

ScoobyDooPremiere03When I did one of these looks at a past public appearance by Kathryn back in early March it was from the première of Minority Report.  The Tom Cruise-led film is over 13 years old!

That gave me an opportunity to expand the piece by mentioning the planned Minority Report TV series.  The cast for a pilot was being assembled.  Since then the Fox network has taken up the option and commissioned a full season.  It starts on US television this autum/fall in a Monday at 9pm slot.

We’ve still got our fingers crossed for Kathryn reprising her role as Lara Clarke, the estranged wife of Tom’s John Anderton.  Not sure how they could shoehorn in a guest spot for such a character but you never know.

Which brings me to today’s post.  It may be about Kathryn at the June 2002 première of the live action (with lots of special effects of course) Scooby-Doo movie starring Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) and her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. (She’s All That) as Daphne and Fred of Mystery Inc.

“But why the waffle about Minority Report?” I hear you say.  The boy very sensibly making sure he keeps hold of Kathryn in the newly added photos is actor Dominic Scott Kay, 6.  Dominic appeared in the film as Sean, the young son of Lara and John who separated due to the emotional turmoil of his disappearance.  The film premièred just a couple of weeks after this event so this was their chance to get in some extra publicity by turning up together.  Or, Kathryn needed an excuse to go and watch the film and knew a boy that she could take as cover  😉

Dominic’s acting career continued with guest roles in things like NCIS and House and he even wrote and directed his own short film which starred Kevin Bacon.  More recently Dominic has concentrated on music and auditioned for The Voice

A small collection of small images have been added to the event album in the KM UK Gallery.
