Kathryn was invited to take part in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race event, a support category for the  main ChampCar race at the Toyota Grand Prix Of Long Beach.  This involved a training day, a press day, a glamorous gala (some of my favourite KM photos) and the race day itself.  Kathryn even got a brief cameo in The Girls Next Door show at the same event, as previously covered.  There are now 19 new/upgraded to larger sizes images across those four albums.

A slightly more tenuous motor racing link for the next set.  You hear the name Monte Carlo and you immediately think of casinos and Formula 1 cars.  The diminutive principality also hosts an annual TV Festival.  Kathryn attended various events to promote Cold Case in Europe.  For this update 36 images from two photocalls get the “embiggening” treatment.  A slightly red in the cheeks Kathryn in 12 photos here and Kathryn very much enjoying herself in front of the press in 22 photos here.

The other day (26th August 2010) Deadline.com reported that Kathryn has indeed signed with The Gersh Agency.  A snippet from the piece.

So what do we have for you this [...]]]> It’s was very much awards season in the first half of 2006 for Kathryn as she made several public appearances at a variety of events.  This week KM UK brings you another pair of Summer Of HD updates, making the biggest and best versions of the photos available.

So what do we have for you this time?

• The Costume Designers Guild Awards saw Kathryn in a great off-the-shoulder red dress posing for some quite enigmatic shots (see above).  The smile couldn’t help but put in an appearance though   It’s the last 5 in the set, the photoshoot ones that have been upgraded.
• Kathryn looked very cute at Prism Awards with her simple hair-down style and long dress.  Bigger versions of the final 2 photos have been posted.
• A more glammed up Kathryn went to the Country Music Awards to present a trophy.  It’s the press room and portrait shots we are concentrating on here as they get the full-sized treatment.  Just the last 3 of the arrivals but all 8 portrait shots get boosted.

Well, we will correct that oversight right now with a description of the movie below, [...]]]> Looking back it is surprising to find that I’ve never really posted about Resurrecting The Champ on KM UK before.  The Gallery has included screencaps, full HD screencaps from the trailer and stills from the word go, but nothing beyond that.

Well, we will correct that oversight right now with a description of the movie below, and brand new exclusive Full HD (1080p) screencaps, 295 316 in total, of Kathryn’s appearance in it and newly updated stills (including one huge HQ image) to be found in the Gallery.

Resurrecting The Champ tells the story of Erik Kernan Jr. (Josh Hartnett), a newspaper sports reporter.  He’s struggling to find his own voice and is suffering from a lack of confidence in his work.  Erik is married with a young child but he is separated from his wife and is not entirely truthful with his son: lying to him about meeting sports stars as a way to impress him.

Not helping Erik’s self-confidence is the fact that his wife, Joyce, is a successful, award winning journalist who works for the same paper.  And this is where Kathryn comes into the picture as she plays Joyce, which, coincidentally, is Kathryn’s mother’s name.

Joyce and Erik are clearly still on good terms, though the distance is quite obvious.  Erik resents his wife’s success and feels his own manhood is undermined.  He wants back into the family, to be a husband and father again.  Joyce is one of the few people that can make Erik consider his actions and encourage him to do the right thing.  She wants Erik to be able to feel proud of himself, thereby allowing her and their son to be proud of him.

Erik stumbles across a man living on the street who claims to be a once famous boxer going by the name of Champ (Samuel L. Jackson).  This rags to riches to (actual) rags story is just what Erik needs.  He could really make a name for himself, possibly win an award or two, if he does a good job.  Erik spends a lot of time with the gravelly voiced Champ, trying to help him clean up his life and reconnect with family.  Unfortunately things don’t quite go to plan.

Kathryn’s role is relatively small, she appears at various points in the film from the very beginning to the very end, but the character is significant to the story.  We first see Kathryn in an editors meeting, chaired by the director of the movie Rod Lurie in a brief cameo, setting her up as quite important at the newspaper.  Soon after she is in her office talking to Erik, in a scene that shows their relationship, or lack of.  Erik manages to talk his way in to an evening with Joyce and their son next, he clearly wants to be back home (who can blame him ).  His attempt to kiss his wife goodbye does not go down well though.

Later Joyce shows her son Erik’s article in the paper, but has to lay down the law when Erik confesses.  Letting her hair down with the kids (her son and his friends) next as they stay up to watch Erik doing his first TV presenting job.  And then we come to what I can only describe as one of Kathryn’s best scenes ever (see headlining image).  Kathryn looks truly stunning with her hair down, standing in the garden in the twilight in her night dress.  A great bit of acting too as Joyce and Erik discuss things.  After Erik gets hurt in a brawl Joyce has to set him straight again in hospital.  Which leaves us with a quick funeral scene and to bed.

It’s a bumpy ride for Erik, he has to learn a few life lessons, but things end very well for him, for Joyce, and us 

Alongside Samuel, Josh and Kathryn the movie has an impressive cast: Alan Alda (MASH), Rachel Nichols (GI Joe: Rise Of The Cobra) and Desperate Housewives’s Teri Hatcher are amongst the stars make small appearances.

Update: Oops!  It looks like I managed to miss out a whole scene from the screencaps, the one where Kathryn is wearing the green jacket, as in the still below.  I’ve added them into the sequence in the correct place and re-numbered accordingly.  Sorry.

It’s an item from a recent edition of Star magazine in the USA.  I don’t know but I’m guessing Star is a tabloid-style gossip rag, so hardly the most reliable of sources.  The “story” was posted as a small insert alongside a larger piece about Brad’s missus, Angelina Jolie, spending time with a mysterious female.  It is a lot of unsubtle nudge-nudge wink-wink stuff.  I’m not putting a huge amount of faith in the content but you never know.  It is what it is.  Read the text from the piece is after the jump.

Too Close For Comfort?

Angelina recently shot a racy nude shower scene with Johnny Depp in The Tourist, but now it’s Brad’s turn!  The actor, currently filming Moneyball in L.A., has a steamy sex scene with his attractive costar Kathryn Morris, 41.  Kathryn’s character Tara, the second wife of Brad’s character, Billy, provocatively poses for him, dishes a source who has read the script.  “Brad starts touching her all over her body and tells her, ‘I want to have sex, I want to have sex right now,’” says the source, noting, “It’s really raunchy!”  And the chemistry between the two is undeniable.  During a test shoot, “Brad was stuttering and blushing when he was around Kathryn,” reveals the source.  “He was clearly nervous.”  Looks like Angelina’s not the only one with a new crush!

Interesting… 

The film’s script has a complex history that makes it difficult to know how true this might be.  An early draft apparently included a scene involving Billy and a waitress, but that one was rejected as too far from reality.  A later version is said to have been a more documentary-style film.  Prior to the filming beginning the original screenwriter returned.

I can see that starring in a Brad Pitt movie, especially as she is playing his character’s wife, is going to put the spotlight on Kathryn in the coming months.

I know a lot of people reach this site whilst looking for information about whether UK satellite TV station Sky 1 will be showing Cold Case Season 7.  Hopefully this will be of some use to them.

It’s been a quite a few months since I last looked into if/when Sky 1 would be showing Cold Case series 7 so I posed the question to Sky’s Viewer Relations department again.  Previously the response has been along the non-committal lines of “Sky 1 has no plans at present to show it”.

Now, however, the answer has changed to “Sky 1… will not be airing series 7 of Cold Case” citing the reason of “other programming commitments.” Which I guess means that the show has been dropped in favour of other new shows.

Cold Case has been a regular (sometimes several times a day) on Sky 1 and its sister channel Sky 2 for the past few years.  The broadcaster’s free-to-air channel, Sky 3, has also regularly carried older series of Cold Case, with series 6 coming to an end in the next week or so.

If Sky 1 doesn’t broadcast S7 then it is unlikely that Sky 3 will.  Searches of Sky schedules across all channels show no episodes of Cold Case airing in the coming month once Sky 3 have completed S6.
