Kathryn @ Plush Show 2013 – Update x3

plush_show_2013_017Kathryn and her two little friends, or maybe that should be her two larger than normal friends 😮 , were at an event showcasing baby and toddler related products yesterday (9th June 2013).

The Plush Show 2013 ran over the weekend at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza with sellers showing pushchairs/strollers, cots and no doubt everything else you could possibly need for a baby or two.

For now we just have a number of preview images in the Gallery.  Larger and less preview-y images will be added when we get them.

Update (10 June 2013):  A whole raft of additional and replacement images have been added and… errr… replaced.  Number 17 (the one in the banner above) is a significant enlargement on the previous version, which seems appropriate :-)

Update (11 June 2013):  Maximo TV has posted a video of an interview with Kathryn at this event.  You can see it HERE on YouTube.  Kathryn talks about her pregnancy and, in amongst a few awkward pauses, mentions the not picked up Surgeon General pilot and having a several “irons in the fire” for future projects once things have settled down with the babies.  A small copy of the video and HD (720p) screencaps from it are now in

Update (13 June 2013):  To help some of non-English speakers a transcript of the interview in the video has been added to the description text that accompanies the video in the Gallery.

The Coin To Première At ShortFest – Update x2

palm_springs_international_shortfest_2013_600x730

Fabien Martorell has sent a Tweet, following a Facebook page post, that his short film The Coin will première at the Palm Springs International ShortFest on Saturday the 22nd of June.  It will be at a 1:30pm screening at the Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs.

The short film, which stars Kathryn Morris and Christopher Lloyd (Back To The Future), was filmed last summer and revolves around a young boy meeting a homeless man at a shop.  Kathryn plays the boy’s very stressed mother.

The official programme for the event is not due to be released until tomorrow (9th June 2013) but Fabien has clearly been given the information ahead of time.

We wish everyone involved in the production all the best with the event.

You can read more about the ShortFest at the event’s website.

Update (9 June 2013):  The official programmes have been released by the ShortFest organisers.  The Coin will be screened alongside 8 other short films in a package called FantasyLand.  The group is comprised of films from all over the world including France, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.  As The Coin shows, these short productions can include some internationally famous actors.  An entry in FantasyLand from England, called Dust, stars Alan Rickman (Die Hard) and Jodie Whittaker (Attack The Block).  Fellow Brit actors Ian McKellen (X-Men), Brenda Blethyn (Little Voice) and Christopher Eccleston (Dr Who), and singer and The Voice UK coach Tom Jones also have roles in other films across the festival.

Update (10 June 2013):  The Palm Springs International ShortFest official press release announcing the 2013 line-up has been published.  You can read it here.  The world premiere of The Coin and Christopher Lloyd starring in it are mentioned, Kathryn is not name-checked but it’s an incredibly lengthy and impressive list of actors from all over the world so we’ll forgive the oversight on this occasion :-)

In 2006 She Went A Little Bit Country

portraits_09Prompted by a question raised by site regular Kathy we’ve delved back into the archives for a very timely update.

It was on this day (23rd May 2006) seven years ago that Kathryn attended the Academy Of Country Music Awards.  The ACMAs are not to be confused with other country music awards with similar acronyms such as the Country Music Awards.  What ever happened to the “western” part anyway?  Don’t they do both types of music any more?

It looks like it was quite a full evening for Kathryn.  It started with arriving in an American sub-compact… OK, that’s clearly a lie.  It started many hours earlier with her getting ready for the event (as women are wont to do) and involved a ridiculously long, gold painted stretched limo.  Like Kathryn needed such a “look at me” vehicle when she stepped out of the car looking like that!  Yowza!  Extra points if you can leave a comment naming the make of dress and monkey-logoed purse.

press_room_006Getting out of a limo has a nasty habit of leading to a red carpet and sure enough it happened here.  After that you can’t avoid having a portrait photo session, attending a music awards ceremony, going on stage to give an award and being photographed some more but this time with various products.  Tough day.  Do you think Kathryn was supposed to be putting on the clothes and walking off with them?  😮

So, 26 new(ish) photos have now been added to the Gallery to help further illustrate the points made above.  Ten in the arrivals section.  One update (it’s bigger of course) to photo number 6 in the press room set.  And, a bakers dozen (that’s 13) in the new Distinctive Assets At The ACMA sub-album.

Plus, we have a very, very short video of Kathryn presenting the Best Album award to… you’ll have to watch to find out :-)

The Coin @ Palm Springs International ShortFest 2013

poster_001According to a post by Fabien Martorell on the Facebook page for the short film The Coin, it has been selected for the Palm Springs International ShortFest for 2013.  Fabien should know more than most as he is the director and co-writer of the short film.  Congratulations to all involved in that achievement.

The festival runs for a week in the latter half of June and will be showing more than 300 short films from all over the world.  Nothing has been announced officially by the festival organisers as the time of writing.  We will certainly let you know when that changes.

The Coin is a 9 minute long film starring Christopher Lloyd (Back To The Future) and Kathryn.  Kathryn plays the stressed-out mother of a young boy who meets a homeless man (Lloyd).

See previous posts on KM UK for more info on the project.  The ShortFest and the International Film Festival share a website which can be seen here.

2006 Inspiration Awards Photos & Video

inspiration_awards_029Has it really been over a month since the last time we delved back into the archive for a Gallery update?  And have we really never posted anything from the Step Up Women’s Network Inspiration Awards in 2006?  Yes and, much to our surprise, no.  Let’s correct both those things right now.

To prove that some thought goes into these things and we don’t just pick a random image taken from anywhere, post it and ask if you like it (as if we would ever stoop to that!) this is almost an anniversary for this event.  Which in itself could be a running theme in the coming weeks.

It is difficult to believe that these photos were taken all the way back in 2006, but they were.  The 27th of April 2006 to be precise.  As you can see from the image above Kathryn spoke at the event as well as just honouring them with her presence.  That perfect amount of long blonde hair was also there that day.

In a small run of public appearances at the end of 2012, Kathryn was seen attending a couple of Step Up Network events.  You can jog your memory about that here and here.

The KM UK Gallery now has 29 new photos (of various sizes) from the red carpet, the awards ceremony itself and accompanying function.  Plus, we have a small video of Kathryn being interviewed at the event.

How many likes?  😉
