KM UK Xmas Message 2009

creative_emmys_001Happy Xmas

As the end of the year rapidly approaches it’s time to reflect on the past 12 months.

I think that’s about as clichéd a start as I can manage :-)

Of course, it would be more accurate for this site to talk about the past 7 months because it only started properly in mid-May.  And what a 7 months it has been!  For Kathryn and this site:  Cold Case renewed for season 7 after so much speculation, the AOASHP movie finally released on DVD, Kathryn attending various events giving us some fantastic pictures (who can forget the Creative Arts Emmy ones?), and there were some other photos of note… can’t think of them at the moment though…  😉

There have been, unfortuntely, some not so great things as well.  The complete silence on the Sun Safety Alliance campaign (none of the related websites have been updated in ages), and the lack of AOAHSP on Blu-ray being chief among them.  And Kathryn not turning up on my doorstep of course  :-)  I’m sure you have your favourite and least favourite KM related events of the year.

But all things considered it’s been a pretty good year.

I want to thank everyone that has visited this site in these, our opening few months.  Your comments, suggestions, information and help and have been very much appreciated.  A site like this is useless without such things and you have shown me it is worth sticking with it.  A big thank you to you all.

It would be great to hear from you if you have something you want to share, be it information or just an opinion on a post.  Or maybe you just want to let your fellow Kathryn fans know you’re out there.  Feel free to comment on articles, contact me directly using the Contact Form, and comment and rate images in the Gallery.

But why,” you ask, “out of all the possible images did you choose the one above to headline this piece?”  That’s a damn good question, I wish I’d thought of it :-)   It’s not exactly Xmas-y.  Or message-y.  I choose it because it is officially a lovely photo, as rated by you the readers.  I was thinking about running a Top 10 list or two for this post, as is traditional this time of year in many aspects of the media, giving a run down of the most popular images in the Gallery based on views and ratings.  The original Assassination Of A High School President movie clip looked set to win the “battle of the clicks”, we were the only site carrying it but, despite their late entry, the FHM pictures dominated the hits.  Not surprisingly, the Télé 7 Jours images initially made a bid for glory, before being crushed under the 3 letter onslaught.  Thanks again to Lester and zoé for their quick thinking and generosity.  I’m not one for boasting, but I believe this site started the wide spread picking up of those stories by the wider Internet.  The image ratings, where viewers can score an image out of 5 stars, has not been used much so it is difficult to differentiate between images.  However, the one shown above is the one with the most 5 star ratings so far.  You can see the full-sized version in all its beautiful glory here.  Perhaps next year there will be more data to base some lists on.

Anyone after some KM goodness on UK TV this holiday can see a repeat of the Murder, She Wrote TV movie on ITV1 at 10:25am on New Year’s Eve (Radio Times info).  More about Kathryn’s role and pictures can be found here on KM UK.

Barring any breaking news stories this is likely to be the last post on KM UK for this year so let me wish you a Happy Xmas (holiday season, festive period or “Friday” if you’d prefer) and a Happy New Year.

I’m sure I speak for everyone here when I say Kathryn, we all wish you a Happy Xmas and a great New Year.  We hope you continue to surprise and delight us.

I hope to see you all here in 2010.  I’m sure there’s plenty more great stuff to come on KM UK in the next 12 months.

Indeed, what a seven months it has been. In such a short time Kaymuk has grown amazingly, attracting more and more people on the net, thanks to the large gallery and the fast updates. You are an amazing webmaster, RichE, and I’m grateful you’re spending so much time on making this website the best.

The picture on top of this update is one of my favorites. And even though I cannot say Kathryn is my all-time favorite actress anymore, for reasons you know, I still hop by every few days, because I enjoy reading your silly and funny remarks. Your dedication to Kathryn is a joy to behold. May it last for many years longer. :)

I wish you, RichE, and everybody on Kaymuk, Look Again and all the people that lurk out there and read this a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. God bless.

This site is amazing, I knew someday that you would have site devoted to the most talanted and beautiful Kathryn.

    Have a Merry Christmas

I totally agree with Khaya. For the last few month, this site has grown amazingly. I had been looking for a site with a lot of information and pictures about KM everywhere and I found it here on KM UK.

RichE, thank you to all the effort you put in this site. It’s so great. And it’s always so much fun to check every day or every few days, if there is a new post.

I just had to score a few pictures, of course with 5 stars :-) , which are my favorite ones from 2009. The best pictures I think are definitely from the 2009 Creative Arts Emmys, including the one above.

I want to wish everybody a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year, as well :-)

We’ll see you here RichE in 2010 – of course! Wouldn’t miss another year with many more events, photoshoots and interviews 😉

In general, you have a hard time if you adore a not so well-known actress (compared to the likes of Kidman, Johansson or Knightley) like Kathryn Morris. Few websites (if any) dedicated to her and most likely abandoned long time ago…

But now, everything changed thanks to you, RichE! Now I can check news on Kathryn daily and see HQ pictures from events in no time when I would have had to wait for one or two years or even missed them before your site existed.

Simply awesome work, RichE! Thank you!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you!

  • Lilly_Scotty

Let me just say a big thank you to RichE for keeping us updated, and the great HD versions. You did a great job making a website for Kathryn that shows just how much she is appreciated! Great Job and have a great Christmas, hope to see it up and running next year :)

  • AWWWEEE! Happy holidays everyone :)

I absolutely adore this site. It is at the top of my web bookmarks and I visit it daily. Keep up the good work..it is greatly appreciated by us Kathryn fans!

I hope everyone has a great Christmas and that we can all deal with a few Cold Case-less weeks. I’m already getting the shakes 😉

PS I love the layout of this site. It makes for excellent viewing from mobile phones…I find myself coming here constantly when I’m out and about…Er..I mean…I’m not obsessed… :)

  • I would normally reply to individual messages but that seems a little excessive :-) So I’ll reply in this one comment.

Thank you all for your kind words. It is so nice to hear such wonderful comments. And we’ve got the chance to meet some new faces too. Welcome.

Khaya – I hope you manage to re-find your respect for Kathryn soon, it would be great to have you back as a regular. I’m sure Kathryn would not be happy to know such a fan was upset by her actions.

Lilly_Scotty – I hope it is running next year as well! Let’s hope some software updates I’m going to attempt next week if I have time are successful. Nothing new, just updates.

evacaan – Are you using the normal site or the special mobile version? You’re obsessed? Who’s the one with the website? :-)

As I said there I will be trying to do some updates to the software behind the site (including the gallery) next week. I’ll post a warning before hand. During that time the site may not work at all or bits may act oddly. Apologies in advance for any inconvenience. Hopefully the disruption will be minimal and happens at a time when most people won’t notice too much. Either way the site will be running before the next episode of CC.

  • evacaan

RichE, I just use the normal site. I don’t have an iPhone or anything so I don’t think my phone is able to get the special version 😉

  • zoé

I’m much more a CC fan than a KM fan, but I love to visit, read your frequent updates and have a good laugh with your funny captions.
I think my favorite on screen KM moment this year was the season finale “Into the Blue”, fabulous acting by KM and great Lilly insight… Off screen, it was the Creative Art Emmys like many here, she was gorgeous! I try to rate the pictures as much as possible but it would be easier if it were just by directly clicking on the stars (for people like me who forget to press the button!).
As for the mobile version, I just get the regular site and don’t know how to switch :-(
Anyway, THANK YOU SO MUCH RICHE for this awesome website, it’s a very productive obsession 😉 Hope the site update goes without troubles.
I am just on time to wish you and everyone here a merry Christmas and wonderful holidays :-)
