Deadline Interviews Veena Sud

Something a little different to start the week.

Veena Sud; writer, producer and executive producer on Cold Case; has found new success with AMC’s The Killing.  Veena is executive producing the show which is based on a Danish drama series.  Recently it was announced that a second season had been commissioned.

In an interview with Deadline‘s Diane Haithman, Veena talks about The Killing, comparisons with Cold Case and Lilly Rush, being a female showrunner and her own interest in being a homicide detective.

the character of Lilly Rush was very different from what we had seen before; she certainly didn’t show up in miniskirts, she dressed like a cop in a suit and pants.

You can read the interview in full on the website HERE.

Tracie Wonders About The Future No More

001Sadly it looks like the pilot for the new Wonder Woman series, which starred Cold Case alumni Tracie Thoms, has not been picked up for a full series, as Nellie Andreeva over at reports.  It is not an official announcement, they don’t tend to do that, but Deadline is rarely wrong.  See the full article HERE.

In that same report you will see mention that “an order for Stephen Gaghan’s sprawling drama Metro is considered extremely unlikely too.”  This is bad news for Danny Pino as this is the show that was previously known as S.I.L.A. or Special Investigations L.A.

It has not been a good few months for a trio of Cold Case stars returning to TV as the drama series that Kathryn was co-producing never got beyond the script stage.

Tracie Is A Wonder Woman!

Cold Case alumna Tracie Thoms (Kat Miller on CC) has bagged herself a role on the new version of Wonder Woman, due to air on NBC.  She will play Etta, the personal assistant of Diana, Wonder Woman’s civilian alter-ego.  So no chance of seeing her in the outfit :-(

Congratulations Tracie!

English actress Liz Hurley is due to star in the pilot as the villain.  Adrianne Palicki plays Diana.

Nellie Andreeva is on the ball again over at, you can read her article HERE.

Danny Pino Signed For New Pilot – Update x2

I’ve been informed by regular reader IcyWinter that news has broken regarding Danny Pino, Cold Case’s Scotty Valens, starring in a possible new TV show.

The NBC show is called S.I.L.A. (Special Investigations Los Angeles) and is a drama involving the police and politicians.  Danny is down as playing the partner of a “Special Investigations Unit” detective.  This is just a pilot at the moment, and Danny is apparently the first actor to be cast, so everything could change.  I’m sure I speak for all of us at KM UK in wishing Danny the best of luck in his future career.

You can read Nellie Andreeva’s news article at

Although this sort of news falls outside the normal scope of this site I am more than happy to report news on Kathryn’s Cold Case castmates as I know many of you are big fans of them.  If you find any such news that you would like to share then please contact me.

Update: have posted a follow-up piece about further casting news for this show.  Daniella Alonso and Matthew Levy have signed for the pilot.  Still no word on the actor for the lead character.  Read the article in full HERE.

Update 2: And now Mädchen Amick has signed for the pilot as well.  She’ll play a lawyer.  Details on HERE.

Tracie In Human Target Screencaps – Update

I know that many of you are fans of Kathryn’s co-stars from Cold Case.  Tracie Thoms, who played Kat Miller in CC, is multi-talented and has returned to stage performing since Cold Case ended, not that she really left it.  However, she recently re-appeared on the small screen, taking a guest star role in the TV show Human Target.  Tracie played the ex-wife of a main character, which does leave scope for her returning.

I practically broke the news of her getting the job to Tracie herself after posting about the news on Twitter a few months back.  She hadn’t even had a chance to tell anyone else about it!  Sorry Tracie :-)

I’ve done this for fans of Danny Pino by posting screencaps of him in Burn Notice (here and here) so I thought I’d do the same for Tracie fans.  Feel free to pass on details of this post onto any Tracie fansites etc. you think might appreciate them.  You can download a small zip of 49 HD (720p) watermark-less screencaps HERE.

Another recent Tweet by the lady herself suggests that she has taken on another TV role in an episode of Harry’s Law, a new legal drama starring another Kathy: Kathy Bates.  The show is due to debut later this month, but I don’t know yet which episode Tracie is involved in.  From IMDb it also appears that Tracie is involved in several upcoming movies as well.

Update: Tracie has posted a Tweet to say she’s has a recurring role in Harry’s Law and, so far, will be in 3 episodes.
