You Get Me Released Today On Netflix

Another quick reminder, which this time I will actually try and make brief. The last one sort of rambled on a bit too long, thereby completely missing the point of a quick reminder. There I go again

The teen drama in no way like Fatal Attraction and starring Bella Thorne, Nash Grier, and Halston Sage that is You Get Me is released on the Internet video streaming service Netflix today (23rd June). Who knows, Kathryn Morris may even be in it.

The movie received it’s première at the LA Film Festival earlier this week. Some of the key cast were in attendance. Kathryn, as far as we can tell, was not.

Reverie Episode Count

The latest news on the Reverie-front is the first season episode count.

Apparently the sci-fi-ish virtual reality-based drama procedural (there’s a bit of guess work involved there) is due to have just 10 episodes in its première run, which is likely due to start next year.

As things stand at present Reverie is scheduled to be part of the NBC network’s ‘mid-season’ releases. That could change though. In the event of another show (new or existing) that starts in autumn/fall being cancelled a mid-season show could be brought in as a replacement.

Also, if a mid-season show proves to be a big success after an episode or two, more could be ordered to extend the run.

You Get Me Trailer

Ahead of its première at the upcoming LA Film Festival, Awesomeness Films has released a trailer for the teen drama You Get Me.

That first showing of the movie is due to happen on the 16th of June, a week from today, as I reported a couple of weeks ago. After that the film will take up residence on the Netflix streaming service, which bought the rights a few months ago.

Slightly worryingly, recently made available press material has not included any references to Kathryn in the named cast. She, however, has remained listed on the film’s IMDb page through various updates and additions. Mixed signals.

So, do we get a glimpse of Kathryn in this short trailer video? No, we don’t. Not surprisingly the two minute long video focuses on the main teenage cast and giving away the main plot line. That’s what trailers are for these days.

You Get Me To Première At LA Film Fest

A somewhat surprising turn of events.

Teen drama You Get Me will be premièred at the LA Film Festival on Monday the 19th of June.

But wait, you might say, a film being first shown at a film festival is hardly an usual occurrence. It is practically the law

But, we found out earlier this year that Netflix had taken up Awesomeness Films, Bella Thorne-lead movie. Making it an exclusive to their media streaming platform as part of a multi-project deal.

That date may trigger a thought or two as well.

The 16th of June was due to be the day that You Get Me first appears on Netflix. To make way for the LA Film Festival première the online release has been pushed back to the 23rd of the month.

So, a future-looking service like Netflix has delayed the release of a new film in favour of the more traditional film festival route. Next they’ll be announcing it will be available exclusively at Blockbuster video stores on Betamax cassettes 5 years after hitting the silver screen. I am old enough to remember all those things

Very little press material has been released about You Get Me so there isn’t much more to say about the film even at this late stage. We still don’t know the role Kathryn plays, not even the first name of her character.

The première screening is due to start at 9:25pm at the ArcLight 8 cinema in Santa Monica.
