Bone Tomahawk At BFI Tomorrow

bfi_film_fest_756x538Bone Tomahawk has bounced around the USA a lot already.

Austin, Texas.  Charlotte, North Carolina.  Miami, Florida.  Hollywood, California.  Phoenix, Arizona.

The film has been shown in them all in the past week or so.

Things are going to change tomorrow with the first of two screenings over the weekend during the British Film Institute London Film Festival.  9:15pm on Saturday and 2:15pm on Sunday to be precise.

The whole event started on Wednesday and continues until the following Sunday (18th Oct).  Apparently there will be an impressive 240 films across the 12 days.

At the time of writing tickets are still available for both showings of Bone Tomahawk via the BFI website HERE.

Bone Tomahawk Goes For A Telluride

telluride_horror_show_1350x1725Maybe it’s the thin air.

Telluride is at over 2,500m (8,200ft) elevation above sea level, up in the mountains of south west Colorado.  And, it’s in a deep, narrow valley too.  There’s lots of mountain left above the town.

For the sixth time Telluride is holding a horror themed film festival over a long weekend, starting on Friday the 16th of October.

The Telluride Horror Show is a relatively new addition to the social calendar, they’ve had a regular film festival since the mid-70s.

A back-to-back showing (the first starts at 5:30pm) at the Nugget Theatre of Bone Tomahawk closes the event on Sunday night.  Just how many more festivals can this movie close?

The festival comprises of another 20 feature films, some of them from outside the US, most of them quite new.  There are a couple of classics in the mix too: The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Return Of The Living Dead.

There are also nearly 50 short films, again from all over the world, shown in various themed blocks.

All the details, including for tickets, can be found on the official website.

Bone Tomahawk @ IHSFF Showcase Tomorrow

ihsff_horror_showcase_220x184In the continuing run of screenings of zomhorwest (zombie horror western, I just made it up) movie Bone Tomahawk next up we have International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival Fall Horror Showcase.

Each day of the event at the Harkins Scottsdale 101 Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, a different film is shown.

Day 1 horcom (horror comedy) The Final Girls gets an airing just a few days before its release.  It’s got quite a cast too: Taissa Farmiga (The Bling Ring), Malin Akerman (Watchmen), Adam DeVine (Modern Family), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Alexander Ludwig (The Hunger Games) and Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries).  The daughter of a famous horror film actress is somehow transported into the movie world during a screening.

Day 2 it’s Bite (no silly portmanteau, it’s a horror).  Bride-to-be (or should it be ‘bee’) is bitten by an insect and starts to transform into one.  Creepy… crawly.

And on the last night, closing another event, it’s Bone Tomahawk.  You know about that one.

Deets and ticks: official website.

Bone Tomahawk To Kill Again At Abertoir

abertoir_horror_festival_618x206This must be some sort of record!

Has a film ever been the final item in so many film festivals across the globe?

S. Craig Zahler’s (writer/director) Bone Tomahawk will be back in the UK for the Abertoir Film Festival in Wales.  Yes, ‘abertoir’.  It’s a combination of Aberystwyth, the town the event is based in, and abattoir, another word for the horror-staple slaughterhouse.  Nicely done sirs.

Abertoir runs from the 10th to the 15th of November in the local Arts Centre.  The schedule has not yet been completed but the organisers have announced that Bone Tomahawk will be the closing film.  This means that ticket specifics are unavailable at this time.  As of writing there are said to be a few passes left for the full week though.

Check out the official website for more details.

Bone Tomahawk: Just One Step To Beyond… Fest

beyond_fest_1023x1462Beyond the première last week of Bone Tomahawk at Fantastic Fest there was screening at the Charlotte Film Festival.

Beyond that was yesterday’s Popcorn Frights Film Festival event for another showing.

“But what could possibly be beyond that?”  I hear you ask.  As luck would have it we have the answer.

Beyond that is Beyond.

The Beyond Fest started last Thursday (1st Oct) and continues until Monday next week (12th Oct).  That’s beyond 11 days long.  It’s 12 :-)  This is getting beyond a joke :-)

Writer/director S. Craig Zahler and star Matthew Fox are said to be attending tomorrow’s (6th Oct) screening of their movie Bone Tomahawk at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

It might be possible to buy tickets via the official website.
