Cold Case Cast Catch-up – Feb 2012

promo_002A quick round-up of what is going on in the careers of the non-Kathryn members of the Cold Case cast.

First up, Danny.  As we all know he’s on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.  It seems to be going well for him and fellow newcomer Kelli Giddish.  Joining a long established show, effectively replacing a much loved character and actor cannot have been easy.  I’m sure that some die-hard fans will not accept such a change but from what I’ve read the audience figures are strong and many do seem to like the contribution Danny and Kelli have made so far.  There is no news on other work by Danny to report on at this time.

Who’s next?

Big Thom Was In The Big House

Another of our occasional looks at the careers of Cold Cast cast members besides Kathryn.

Taking a break from his usual roles in law enforcement, Thom Barry has swapped his police badge and/or hat for a white coat and stethoscope.

Thom made a surprise guest appearance as a prison doctor in the new season première of the TV show House this week.  Looks like Gregory House will back at the hospital soon but we will be seeing more of the young female prison doctor in upcoming episodes.  There is no sign of Thom’s role recurring in future episodes.  It was nice to see him on the small screen again.

We’ve already reported on Thom being in the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D film due next year but there maybe other cinema work in the offing.

It is rumoured that Thom will be reprising his character of Agent Bilkins in The Fast And The Furious series of movies.  Thom was in the first two.  Instalments 6 and 7 are said to be filming back-to-back in Europe next year with a release for the first of them in 2013.

Other than that things seem to be quiet on the Thom Barry front.  If you have any news on Thom’s future plans please contact us.

Thom Barry Cast In New Movie

Of the all Cold Case cast we like Kathryn the best here of course, but I think we all have a big soft spot for Thom Barry.  And we haven’t mentioned him here nearly enough.  So, to go some way to correct that, here is some news about an upcoming role for the gentle giant.

Thom’s quiet authority and screen presence has seen him play lawmen on many occasions in his career and now he’s going to do it again in a sequel to the horror classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.  Thom has been cast as Sheriff Hooper, surely a nod to Tobe Hooper, the director of the original version.

Short-lived Cold Case guest star Tania Raymonde (more famous for her role of Benjamin Linus’ daughter in the TV series Lost) also stars.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D is due for release by Lionsgate in October 2012.  You can read more about the announcement on

Thanks to IcyWinter for the heads-up.
