SNOB Has Two Sided Coin

As reported three weeks ago The Coin makes a return to the festival circuit in New Hampshire, USA.

Since the news broke the Somewhat North Of Boston Film Festival has released its full schedule of screenings during the ~~three~~ four day event. The last day is a recent addition, which allows another viewing of a selection of short films.

The Coin will be shown twice, each time in a group of themed short films.

The first is on the opening night (12th of Nov) at 8:30pm in an 85 minute block titled ‘Friends & Family’.

Number two is on Saturday (14th of Nov). It is a two part affair starting at 3:15pm with a section called ‘Searching…’. After an hour or so filled with seven films there is a break. At 4:30pm things kick off again with ‘…& More’ and another seven films. The Coin is in the second half.

In both cases the short film blocks are being shown in auditorium B of the Red River Theatres on Main Street, Concord, New Hampshire.

Bone Tomahawk Delayed Until Feb In UK

A bit of bad news for my fellow Brits.

If you are looking forward to seeing S. Craig Zahler’s Bone Tomahawk in the UK and you’ve been waiting to take a trip to your local multiplex in December, you might want to think again.

Yesterday’s Inverness Film Festival and the upcoming festival showings in Cork, Leeds and Wales could be your last chance until February.

Yes, February.

Bone Tomahawk‘s theatrical release appears to be have been delayed until the 19th of that month in 2016.

Not sure why that should be.

The Perfect Guy To Make Home Visit

Who doesn’t want to meet the perfect guy before the New Year?

Well, me for a start

But for those that are they can look forward to spending an evening or two with him in the comfort of their own home.

The thriller The Perfect Guy is due for a DVD and Blu-ray release on December 29th of this year (that’s 2015) in America.

The price is currently just under $20 for the standard definition version and near to $30 if you want your thrills in full HD.

The film revolves around Sanaa Lathan’s Leah. She ends a relation and soon afterwards meets the titular ‘perfect guy’. But is he too good to be true? Presumably, or the plot would be lacking a certain something

Kathryn has a few small scenes in her role as a friend of Leah. As we’ve noted before there is one set in a restaurant as the ladies get to meet the new man.

Bone Tomahawk Starts Swinging Today

It has been just over a year since news broke that after a prolonged pre-production period Bone Tomahawk started actual production.

The short filming schedule, very small budget, and limited post-production special effects has meant quite a short turn around. Certainly quicker than much Hollywood fare.

Premièring a month ago at Fantastic Fest and screening at a number of other festivals since (with plenty more to come), Bone Tomahawk will be released in US cinemas and via VOD services today (Friday, 23rd October).

The horror-filled western stars Kurt Russell (Death Proof) as Sheriff Hunt, who, along with Patrick Wilson (Fargo), Matthew Fox (Lost) and Richard Jenkins (Let Me In), set out to rescue Lili Simmons (Banshee) from a band of “cannibalistic cave dwellers”.

David Arquette (Scream), Sean Young (Blade Runner), Sid Haig (Jackie Brown), Michael Parè (The Lincoln Lawyer), and James Tolkan (Top Gun) also star.

Kathryn has a small role as Lorna Hunt, wife to Kurt’s Franklin.

UK cinema goers will have to wait until December the 11th.

One Thing Leeds To Another For Bone Tomahawk

They’re coming thick and fast at the moment.

That rather enigmatic log on the right is the symbol used by the Leeds International Film Festival.

The city of Leeds is in the self-styled ‘god’s own country’ county of Yorkshire in the north of England.

Hundreds of screenings, over a dozen venues, all packed in to a full two week long festival. The programme is broken down to five sections. Bone Tomahawk falls under the one titled ‘Fanomenon’ and will be shown as part of a marathon event called ‘Night Of The Dead XV’. It starts, appropriately enough, on Friday the 13th of November at 9pm. The curtain rises on Bone Tomahawk at around 1am on Saturday morning. But they’re only half-way done! The latest horror film from New Zealand, Deathgasm, ends the night with the credits rolling at nearly 7am. I’m not sure I’d be up for that. Some of us have on the Monday after!

Looks like tickets are only available for the whole night event, so are more expensive than they would be for just an individual screening.
