Cold Case S07E01 – The Crossing Screencaps

The gang are back. And Lilly’s pissed. But not in the way we’ve seen her nearly in before 😮

Not a bad main story but really nothing new. The carry over from last season made up the bulk of the interest. Did you notice the “previously on” included a clip of John threatening a very senior police office if he interfered with his crew from several seasons ago? That must be a hint of stuff to come, why remind us of it otherwise?

Anyway, the Gallery now includes 200 HD (720p) screencaps of Kathryn as Lilly Rush in the season 7 premiere of Cold Case.

Cold Case Season 7 Promo Photos? – Update x2

I say “?” because I’m not entirely sure. I’ve been told these images are from a CC season 7 promo shoot but I don’t have corroborating evidence of that. So, until I find out otherwise I’m treating them as that.

Anyway, two photos. One large, one small. Both great.

Cold Case Season 5 Screencaps Revisited

As we rush headlong towards the start of season 7 I wanted to get my CC screencap collection from the earlier seasons finalised. The season 5 set was a little lacking in numbers so I’ve gone back and done a whole new load from episode 4 (Devil Music) to the finale (ep18, Ghost Of My Child). The first 3 episodes of the run were covered well enough already.

Reference has to be made to ‘the hair’. This had to be the worst season for ‘dos’ of the 5 up to this point. What were the production crew thinking? It started off OK with an only slightly unreal looking straight look in Thrill Kill. Then it morphed into a frankly weird near-beehive-with-silly-fringe thing. There was brief respite in the cemetery scene in Thick As Thieves with a more natural look for Lilly.

Fortunately, Andy In C Minor signalled a trichological shift. Was this after the enforced break caused by the writers strike of early 2008? The silly fringe was gone but the ponytail remained and it still had that essential ‘Lillyness’. I think the make-up changed a bit as well giving Lilly a much more natural look. A significant improvement all round 😛 Of course, you may disagree.

Season 5, of course, followed the dramatic events that ended season 4. Lilly was forced into therapy to assess of her ability to work, not that she stopped. Didn’t amount to much really, just a couple of sessions, possibly another victim of the writers strike.

And we get to meet Eddie…

There were some great smiles, amongst other things, along the way.

Cold Case Season 6 Promos

The Gallery has been updated with some additional HQ CC season 6 (yes, six) promo photos.

It’s interesting to note the difference between the first of the group shots and the other two. The first appears to be a version of the original photograph, whereas the others have been altered. Note the more dramatic background and the tidying up of Kathryn’s coat sleeve. More worrying is the re-shaping of Thom Barry’s head!

Poltergeist: The Legacy

I guess that you could call Poltergeist: The Legacy a procedural. Sort of. Procedurals tend to have a particular focus, a theme that acts as their unique element. CSI deals with the science behind solving a crime. Cold Case deals with stories and characters. 24 does action. Poltergeist: The Legacy involves spooky goings on. The Legacy, a secret society, fights evil. Think Buffy, without the stakes. A “spectural” you might say

In the episode we are interested in (S02E15 – Silent Partner) Kathryn plays Laura Davis, who is a medium, though she looks more like a small to me During the opening seance scene we see (try saying that quickly) Laura become possessed by the spirit of a woman called Elizabeth. It’s not a permanent thing, they time-share the body, with Elizabeth popping up every so often. Elizabeth wants to use Laura’s physical form to enact revenge on those that killed her many years before. And she does.

Kathryn’s performance in this is quite remarkable. The complexity of dealing with both the Laura and Elizabeth characters is one thing: Laura’s all sweet and innocent whereas Elizabeth is full of lust, of both the blood and passion varieties (long dead Elizabeth has missed certain… pleasures). However, it gets even more complex still for our favourite lady: Laura is deaf. So Kathryn is also portraying the speech patterns of someone with limited hearing and doing sign-language. Elizabeth has no hearing impairment and speaks normally. Kathryn had to switch between the characters within a scene! As I said: remarkable. It just goes to show what an amazing acting talent Kathryn is.

There have been screencaps in the Gallery for this show from the beginning but they’ve now been replaced with a much greater number of slightly better quality ones. Plus, a couple of video clips have been thrown in. Enjoy.
