Advertising Week New York 2021

adweek_001.jpgThis is turning into a busy week… for Kathryn.

After her appearance on breakfast/daytime television and the posting of an article she’d written about her experiences as a mother to twin boys with autism, Kathryn turned up at Advertising Week in New York.

On Wednesday (20th Oct) at The Creative Showcase Stage, Kathryn sat down with Tom Ajello, senior partner at the Lippencott creative consultancy.  They discussed the founding of her The Savants initiative and the journey she has gone through since the diagnosis of her children.

I must admit to being a little puzzled by this one.  Not sure how this fits together.  Maybe Advertising Week is about more than just those 4 minute-long interruptions in our favourite TV shows and distracting images on websites.

If it helps get Kathryn’s message out and that in turn helps others then it can only be a good thing.

Hopefully we can bring you more on the event in the not too distant future.

Savants – Kathryn’s Autism Initiative

poster_001.jpgAfter such a long period of silence today has suddenly got quite noisy.

However, we need to make sure that that noise is appropriate for all those around us though.

Today (20th Oct 2021) Kathryn launched her own initiative called The Savants aimed at helping parents of children with autism.

Kathryn’s twin boys, Rocco and Jameson, both have autism.  When Kathryn discovered her children were autistic she found herself initially lost as to what to do.  People did reach out with advice and information which helped, but you always can also use more.  Wanting to raise awareness and make sure that all parents have the help and the resources they need, Kathryn has set up the website The Savants.

Kathryn appeared on the Today morning TV show in the US to discuss her project.  She has also written an article explaining further which you can on the shows website HERE.  The page also has a video of the interview.

One of the sources of help Kathryn mentions is The Autism Community In Action (TACA) group.  Their website is HERE.

A copy of Kathryn’s artcle can be found on HERE on KM UK.

Paris Accord-ing To Trump – April Fool

in_paris_004

To say the least, a recent post here (well, HERE) on KM UK had us a little confused.  It involved a video of Kathryn having breakfast with someone at a street-side café in Paris.  No context, no date, no name, no pack drill.  There was scrambled eggs and coffee though!

Since then we’ve been contacted by a trusted source in France regarding the reason for Kathryn’s unexplained appearance in Paris.

A little background.  Two years ago, a Mr (let me check my notes…) Donald J Trump (President of America apparently) got the U.S. to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord.  This was a global agreement to cut CO2 emissions.  All the nations of the world had signed up to it, apart from a couple of cheeky hold-outs that wanted it to go further than it did.

However, it looks like some facts have finally manage to penetrate deeply enough to make Mr Trump reconsider his country’s position.  That and the personal financial loss of his Florida-based private club Mar-a-Lago being due to disappear underwater in the next 20 years.  Try as he might, Mr Trump could not get the local zoning commission to declare the property as a 10,000 sq mile (there’d be no wall to say where it ended!) luxury water park, marina and yacht club.

But how does a man of Mr Trump’s international standing and reputation go about reversing such a major decision whilst saving face?  We have been informed that a plan was put in place last year.  What he needed was a completely believable and credible envoy to act on his behalf.  Someone that could remain detached, whilst dropping a metaphorical pebble of change in the actual warming oceans.  Project Aloof Ripl (txtspk for ripple) was initiated and Kathryn agreed to take on the momentous role, travelling to France to make contact with the powers that be in Europe.

Information passed to KM UK suggests that the video posted on YouTube was a coded report back to Mr Trump.  The man eating breakfast with Kathryn is her Paris contact known as Little Chef.  The fact that it was sunny and Kathryn was wearing a t-shirt, despite being filmed in February in the depths of a French winter, is a message home that the scientific evidence on temperature rises has been proven to be correct.  The references to how much more good food you could get for €12 in Paris than for the equivalent amount in Los Angeles, is to indicate that the economic issues for the U.S. are not as bad as were feared and the French suggested solution is workable.  The croissant was just a croissant.

As far fetched as this all might sound, let us just hope that there is truth behind it.

Update:  Yes, this was my annual attempt at upping the silly on this site for April Fools Day.

Kathryn Is Olivia In 2BR/1BA – Update

2br1ba_logo_002_150x117Here is the latest news on this oddly named film.

Kathryn will be playing a character called Olivia Morgan.

Olivia works as an assistant to a wealthy couple and she has reason to interview the two apartment sharing lead characters Janie and Dee (played by Alexa Vega and Spencer Grammer respectively).

Olivia is a supporting role and appears in 3 scenes.  Admittedly that does not sound like many but I am assured that they are “very memorable” and “crucial”.

The film is a feature length production with a running time of around 90 minutes.  Filming starts today (25th September 2012) with Kathryn due on set for a day later this week.

Late last week 2BR/1BA gained an IMDb page.  In fact it gained two.  We understand that this is being dealt with.  A link to one of them has been added to the list on the right.  It will be corrected later if necessary.

Don’t forget that 2BR/1BA is still seeking additional funding to help with post-production work.  Rewards are on offer to those that make a contribution.  See their Indiegogo page for details.

KM UK hopes to bring you some new and exciting stuff from this film in the very near future.  Watch this space!

Update (26th September):  The film’s IMDb pages have been reduced to the tune of one, to one.

Kathryn Takes Up Residence In 2BR/1BA – Funding Help Required

2br1ba_logo_002_150x117Early this morning UK time a Tweet was posted that stated Kathryn would be starring in a new movie by the director Rob Margolies.

“Rob who?” you might be asking.  Well, you might not recognise the name but you have seen his previous feature film mentioned several times on this very site.  Margolies was the writer and director of the recently released on DVD She Wants Me.  Photos from the Las Vegas launch event caused something of a sensation here a couple of weeks ago.  I think we can join the dots on this one 😉

That original Tweet was removed but has since been replaced by an identical one on the She Wants Me Movie Twitter feed:

@SheWantsMeMovie

Rob Margolies next film “2br/1ba” starring Alexa Vega, Spencer Grammer and Kathryn Morris #Greek #ColdCase #SpyKids #thriller – Link

This new film is called 2BR/1BA, which is property advertising shorthand for “2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom”, revolves around two young women sharing an apartment “whose differences come to a head over one crazy day.”  The two leads will be played by Alexa Vega (Spy Kids 1-4) and Spencer Grammer (TV show Greek).  Principal photography is due to start next Monday (24th September 2012).

Rob has kindly confirmed to KM UK that Kathryn is definitely attached.  Her role is a supporting one but, as Rob told us, “There are only 5 roles in the entire script so her screen time will be very much felt.”  Which is great news!

Much like the short film Sunday’s Mother the 2BR/1BA production is requesting help with funding to cover the full production costs and complete the post-production process.  KM UK is joining the campaign to help the movie meet its target and we invite you dear reader to do what you can to assist.  You can play a direct part in bringing a film starring Kathryn Morris to the screen.

Also like Sunday’s Mother there is a sliding scale of rewards depending on the amount you pledge.  $10 gets you a behind the scenes photo, $25 a DVD.  Other rewards include home baked cookies, dinner with the director (Rob), speaking roles and producer credits.

You can find the film project’s funding page on the Indiegogo.com website along with all the details HERE.

We will bring you more news on 2BR/1BA soon.
