Cold Case Cast Catch-up – September 2012

tracie_thoms_looper_001_430x180It’s September 2012’s round-up of news regarding the other cast-members of Cold Case.

Kicking off with the ever loopy, I mean lovely, Tracie Thoms.  Well, I say “loopy” because her latest film role is due to hit the big screens at the end of this month across most of the world.  The film is called Looper and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception and 3rd Rock From The Sun), Bruce Willis (Die Hard) and Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada, which Tracie had small role in).  Beyond what we’ve seen in the photo above, other similar ones and a handful of frames in a trailer, the extent of Tracie’s role as Beatrix is not known.  Looper received it’s world première at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.  Still no news on the release date for the kidnapped-women-forced-to-fight-each-other movie Raze that Tracie made earlier this year.  And no doubt Tracie has been involved in a dozen other events and projects since our last update.  She’s a very busy lady!

In the previous CCCC-up we extended the scope a little to include Veena Sud and Liz Garcia.  Both women had significant behind-the-cameras positions on Cold Case and there was news of major projects for both them.  Well, this time we can mention Liz’s new film The Lifeguard again as, according to IMDb, John Finn has joined the cast as “Big Jason”.  Make of that what you will.  It’s set for release sometime next year and stars Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars fame.

As noted last time Jeremy Ratchford (Nick in Cold Case) didn’t re-appear in the TNT show Perception, starring Rachael Leigh Cook (Josie And The Pussycats and She’s All That) and Eric McCormack (Will & Grace), which recently finished its first season.

As for Danny Pino things are fairly straight forward.  Season 14 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit starts on American TV tonight (26th September 2012) with 2 episodes back-to-back.  In other news, Danny was nominated for an ALMA (American Latino Media Arts) Award for his role in SVU.  Sadly he didn’t win.  For all things Pino head over to our friends at Danny Pino Online.

According to IMDb Thom Barry starred in an episode of something called Chasing The Hill, a drama set on Capitol Hill.  It is difficult to know exactly when it was added to IMDb but I’m sure it wasn’t there at the time of the last of these updates.  No details are available on Thom’s role but The West Wing‘s Richard Schiff stars as well as someone we’ll be seeing more of soon on KM UK: Robin Weigert.  The programme appears to be a download only with just a couple of episodes available so far.  You can find more details on the Chasing The Hill website.

Just time to slip in a mention of Cold Case creator Meredith Stiehm‘s recent success.  Meredith was a producer and occasional writer on the very successful drama series Homeland.  The show won 6 of the 9 Prime Time Emmys it was nominated for, including Best Actor (Damien Lewis), Best Actress (Clare Danes) and Outstanding Drama series.  Congratulations to all involved.  Good luck with season 2, which starts very soon in the US.  Best wishes to Clare on her impending baby.  Meredith’s next project The Bridge (mentioned in the previous CCCC), another Scandinavian drama being adapted for American TV, has gained a lead actress:  Diane Kruger (Inglorious Bastards).

If you have any news about any of the Cold Case main cast then please let us know.
