We’ve managed to find a couple of new photos of Kathryn on the set of Fabien Mortorell’s short film The Coin. This was the 3rd of July this year.

Poster For The Coin – Update

The poster for the short film The Coin, starring Kathryn, Christopher Lloyd (Back To The Future), and Jack Ryan Shepherd, has been released.

Kathryn Is Rachael In The Coin

The IMDb entry for the short film The Coin has finally accepted updates to include both Kathryn and Christopher Lloyd as cast members, they had been notably missing until now. Their addition reveals their characters’ names.

Kathryn stars as Rachael and Christopher, best known as Dr. Emmett Brown in the Back To The Future movies, is William.

This matches information recently supplied to KM UK. Previously we speculated as to the meaning of the release date of 17th September 2012 currently shown on IMDb. We understand that this is just a place-holder submitted to IMDb to help get the film added to the site and doesn’t relate to any specific event.

So far no details are known of the plot of the 9 minute long short film.

There is no shortage of short film news today

Last time we had a post like this it was for Confections Of A Discarded Woman and it was still early days and unconfirmed. This time things are a little more certain, as we’ve already seen.

The short film The Coin, by director Fabien Martorell, has been added to IMDb. As we discovered previously they only do this for short films once they’ve been completed.

At the time of writing Kathryn has not been added to the cast list and neither has Christopher Lloyd. No doubt that will change very soon. There are no plot details given so far but there are a few other interesting tidbits of information to be gleaned from the page:

The film is 9 minutes long
The release date is 17th September 2012 (a Monday)

At 9 minutes it is definitely a short film, let’s hope for 8.5 minutes of Kathryn

So far I’ve been unable to determine what that release date means. For a short film it is most likely to be a film festival or similar but it could be meaningless as it is all subject to change.

The Coin Details & On Set Photo

I have managed to track down a few details on the film The Coin that we recently discovered Kathryn was filming. But first let’s deal with the image above which has no doubt caught your eye.

In the photo you can see (left to right) actor Christopher Lloyd (Back To The Future), director & co-writer Fabien Martorell, Kathryn, and co-writer & producer Golan. Just out of shot (see the Gallery for the full image) is young Jack Shepherd.

Other than the cast, which also includes Adam McArthur and Jesse Burges, we can bring you the following information:

It is a short film
Filming was completed in just a couple of days
The filming wrapped on Wednesday the 4th of July 2012
Christopher could be playing a homeless man or some kind of vagrant

At this stage I don’t know any more details about the plot but if I had to hazard a guess I’d say that Kathryn is playing the mother to Jack’s character and they come into contact with Christopher’s character. I don’t think it would be big a stretch to assume a coin is involved.

Being a short film would explain the relatively under-the-radar nature of this film. I understand that IMDb will not take submissions for short films until they are completed, as we found previously with Sunday’s Mother. Also, no details have been found so far on the plans for releasing or screening the film.
