This sort of Cold Case speculation falls outside the normal remit of this site but I noticed something in the recent CBS press release regarding the season finale, Shattered, that caught my attention.
First of all, so far, though no doubt I’ll be proven wrong almost immediately, there has been no press release for the penultimate episode, Almost Paradise. It seems odd to not publish that one first. Perhaps the Shattered release was put out early to cash in on the news doing the rounds about the previously unreleased Rolling Stones tracks. Or maybe the Almost Paradise one gives away a bit too much.
These are the opening words of many, the vast majority I’d say, of the CBS press releases for Cold Case episodes:
THE TEAM RE-OPENS…
THE TEAM INVESTIGATES…
LILLY AND HER TEAM INVESTIGATE…
THE TEAM DECIDES…
LILLY AND THE TEAM RE-OPEN…
RUSH AND THE TEAM INVESTIGATE…
RUSH AND THE TEAM RE-OPEN…
LILLY AND VALENS RE-OPEN…
THE TEAM PARTNERS WITH…
However, the Shattered release starts:
VALENS JOINS FORCES WITH RUSH TO…
Notice the difference?
It is normally all about the team, but for Shattered Lilly and Scotty have decided to work together. The cop partners of 7 years working together needs to be stated like that?
For all I know the spoiler boards have discussed this at a great length already, I don’t know, I don’t read them. To me though, it could be hinting at few different possible scenarios in the lead up to Shattered.
And there is a still showing Scotty and Lilly together. Maybe [finally] something happens between them? :O
Big part of the fans are waiting for something like this since 1st season. 😀

But … This time, in fact, start of Press Releases out different.
I highly doubt they will get together, I’m sorry but Kathryn and Danny both had said on numerious occiasions that they will never be together, and that it would be too weird if they kissed.
I think everyone is taking this out of porportion, they are only doing that test the shippers, when really scotty is joining to help Lilly find Christina.
They wouldn’t just make them a romantic couple, given the fact there has been no romance every between them, it would just be unreal and stupid. Besides Danny said in a recently interview he would never want it to happen
Well, I want them to be together. This to me would be the perfect ending.
A story in interviews, a year ago an interview aired in Spain (very unusual) and Kathryn about a romance enters both said: Who knows
And danny said: I feel very strange kissing Kathryn But Scotty would feel weird kissing Lilly?
I think they would make a nice couple, well why not? Most of the audience wants it
Logically, you can’t just throw in a romantic between two characters all of sudden like that. It would be as if the writers completely threw this in without putting them in a well balancing romantic relationship first.
Most of the audience doesn’t want them together, just the ones who are shippers.
@sonia- Can you please state where you actually heard Danny stay that, I heard something quite different
I do not know how to find this video, I saw him last year and some months, the Fox network was issued, and Kathryn and Danny talking out on the set of Cold Case :S:S
Well, I do think many people want them together, anyway. I settle for if you end up with a great great great friendship, but would like to see them as a couple
My post was not about “Lilly and Scotty” it was about the wording of the press release hinting at the way the are tackling the issue at hand, rescuing Christina. I thought it raises a few interesting questions that people might want to discuss. But apparently this is just going to be the standard Lilly/Scotty debate.
If any one can point to actual figures showing the numbers of viewers that feel one way or the other about Lilly/Scotty please post a link to it. Otherwise don’t make such claims.
It is clear that viewers of the show will be arguing about the Lilly/Scotty thing until it is made clear one way or the other. And we won’t know that until they show us, if they ever do. Perhaps we could wait until then.
The press release to me, is stating that everything is coming around full circle, trying to complete storylines. I hope that isn’t the cause
