Moneyball 2nd Look On Entertainment Tonight

2nd look or first look?  I’m not sure yesterday’s really counts :-)

Anyway, what we have today from Entertainment Tonight last night (still with me?) is very likely to be the first Moneyball trailer in full, minus a proper voice-over and credits.

No sign of Kathryn.  But then again, there is no sign of Robin Wright either or Philip Seymour Hoffman.  He only appears briefly and doesn’t even get to say anything.  We do see shots from a couple scenes of Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) with his daughter from his first marriage.  Kathryn took the role of Beane’s second wife.

Video of the ET piece is now in the Gallery.

Thanks again to JoliePittStop for the high quality video.

Update: As suspected it appears that the video ET played is the trailer.  Jen Yamato (a writer for the Movie Line website) sent several Tweets about the trailer.  Jen saw the trailer in the cinema earlier in the day and notes it is better without the ET presenters talking over it.

Moneyball 1st Look On Entertainment Tonight – Update

Sony Pictures, the studio behind Moneyball, has just posted a Tweet stating that there will be a “first look” at the film on the US TV show Entertainment Tonight.

The Tweet in full:

TUNE IN tonight for a first look at #Moneyball, starring Brad Pitt and @JonahHill on Entertainment Tonight. Check local listings. – Link

If you are in America and manage to see the show please let us know.

Update: Moneyball only got a very brief mention in this edition of Entertainment Tonight.  In fact it was just a teaser for a more comprehensive look in tomorrow’s show.  Kathryn did not appear in the video clips shown, they focussed very much on Brad Pitt.  You can find a video of the short segment in the Gallery.  Thanks to JoliePittStop for the video.

Moneyball Trailer Due This Week?

It is being reported that the first full trailer for the movie Moneyball is complete and could be released this week.

I’m sceptical about Kathryn appearing at all in the final cut of Moneyball after reports from people that have been to preview screenings, but a trailer will give us more clues.  If she is shown in the trailer she should be in the film.  If she’s mentioned in the credits then she’ll likely be in the film.  However, if we don’t see Kathryn or her name that does not necessarily mean she won’t be in the movie, though it does reduce the likelihood.  Fingers crossed.

Moneyball stars Brad Pitt as Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland A’s baseball team.  Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Wright co-star in the film adaptation of Michael Lewis’ book of the same name.  Kathryn took on the role of Beane’s second wife.

I’ll post the trailer here as soon as it becomes available.

Kathryn Manns Up On Moneyball Set

onset_017_20100927We are less than 4 months away from the release of the movie Moneyball and we are still waiting for any official images or video.  So for now we’ll have to settle for another on set image I’ve found.  It’s not a great quality photo (but it is very large) but that smile always shines through.

Here we see Kathryn with the actor Gregor Manns.  Gregor is credited as a “TSA Employee” in Moneyball, which for the benefit of those that don’t know means he is playing an airport security official.  That ties in with the earlier report of Kathryn’s character, Tara Beane, and her husband Billy being on holiday to Hawaii.

Kathryn’s outfit and hair-do in this new photo match what we saw in the paparazzi shots from last September of  her and Brad on set.

There is still something of a question mark over the extent of Kathryn’s role in Moneyball but hopefully things will become clearer soon.

Moneyball Could Be A Shutout for KM

Earlier this week some people in California were privileged to go to early previews of the movie Moneyball, which is not due for general release for another 6 months.  A few articles have appeared, including this one on Hollywood Elswhere, giving a few quick opinions.  NDAs probably prevent the posters going into too much detail but the general impression given is that the movie is very good.  In particular Jonah Hill, normally seen in comedic roles, has been singled out for praise.

Our main interest in the film, a certain Kathryn Morris, goes largely unmentioned in the pieces beyond stating that she is in the film.  That theme continues with comments I’ve had from a few of those that went to the special screenings.  The sad news they report is that Kathryn is hardly in the film at all.
