I would like a few banners and buttons to be used as links to KMUK on other sites. My abilities in this department have been proven to be lacking far too often for me to consider attempting such a thing myself. So I wondering if you kind people would help?

Obviously the images would need to include something relating to Kathryn and the name of the site. The “UK” thing, and the “look & feel” of this site might be worth considering as motifs. The Gallery is full of potential source material.

There seem to be some common standards used for these things. Banners of between 500px and 700px wide. Buttons at around 100px wide. An example of a button that I have already is one that TVFan kindly created for use on Pass The Remote (shown on the right) which is 100×40px.

All submissions will be showcased in the forthcoming Fan Art section of the Gallery.

Please contact me via a comment below, email or the Contact form if you wish to help

Thank you.

If there is sufficient interest I will create a new section of the Gallery for users to display their Photoshop creations (other graphics packages are available).

I am open to suggestions of what is considered the best way to arrange things but the current plan would be that each user would have their own album (a sub-album of Miscellaneous / Fan Art), which could have separate sub-albums for different types of graphics such as wallpapers, banners and avatars.

Happy Xmas

As the end of the year rapidly approaches it’s time to reflect on the past 12 months.

I think that’s about as clichéd a start as I can manage

Of course, it would be more accurate for this site to talk about the past 7 months because it only started properly in mid-May. And what a 7 months it has been! For Kathryn and this site: Cold Case renewed for season 7 after so much speculation, the AOASHP movie finally released on DVD, Kathryn attending various events giving us some fantastic pictures (who can forget the Creative Arts Emmy ones?), and there were some other photos of note… can’t think of them at the moment though…

There have been, unfortuntely, some not so great things as well. The complete silence on the Sun Safety Alliance campaign (none of the related websites have been updated in ages), and the lack of AOAHSP on Blu-ray being chief among them. And Kathryn not turning up on my doorstep of course I’m sure you have your favourite and least favourite KM related events of the year.

But all things considered it’s been a pretty good year.

I want to thank everyone that has visited this site in these, our opening few months. Your comments, suggestions, information and help and have been very much appreciated. A site like this is useless without such things and you have shown me it is worth sticking with it. A big thank you to you all.

It would be great to hear from you if you have something you want to share, be it information or just an opinion on a post. Or maybe you just want to let your fellow Kathryn fans know you’re out there. Feel free to comment on articles, contact me directly using the Contact Form, and comment and rate images in the Gallery.

“But why,” you ask, “out of all the possible images did you choose the one above to headline this piece?“ That’s a damn good question, I wish I’d thought of it It’s not exactly Xmas-y. Or message-y. I choose it because it is officially a lovely photo, as rated by you the readers. I was thinking about running a Top 10 list or two for this post, as is traditional this time of year in many aspects of the media, giving a run down of the most popular images in the Gallery based on views and ratings. The original Assassination Of A High School President movie clip looked set to win the “battle of the clicks”, we were the only site carrying it but, despite their late entry, the FHM pictures dominated the hits. Not surprisingly, the Télé 7 Jours images initially made a bid for glory, before being crushed under the 3 letter onslaught. Thanks again to Lester and zoé for their quick thinking and generosity. I’m not one for boasting, but I believe this site started the wide spread picking up of those stories by the wider Internet. The image ratings, where viewers can score an image out of 5 stars, has not been used much so it is difficult to differentiate between images. However, the one shown above is the one with the most 5 star ratings so far. You can see the full-sized version in all its beautiful glory here. Perhaps next year there will be more data to base some lists on.

Anyone after some KM goodness on UK TV this holiday can see a repeat of the Murder, She Wrote TV movie on ITV1 at 10:25am on New Year’s Eve (Radio Times info). More about Kathryn’s role and pictures can be found here on KM UK.

Barring any breaking news stories this is likely to be the last post on KM UK for this year so let me wish you a Happy Xmas (holiday season, festive period or “Friday” if you’d prefer) and a Happy New Year.

I’m sure I speak for everyone here when I say Kathryn, we all wish you a Happy Xmas and a great New Year. We hope you continue to surprise and delight us.

I hope to see you all here in 2010. I’m sure there’s plenty more great stuff to come on KM UK in the next 12 months.

And I thought Santa was supposed to be granting people’s Xmas wishes, not keeping the best stuff for himself!

Time for a bit of Xmas themed fun here on KM UK. I’ve put together a sort of advent calendar in the Gallery. It is not properly interactive in the way I’d like, so that you’d click on a “door” to reveal an image. Instead, I’ve had to use a simpler system where by each day a new image will be revealed (assuming I remember and am able to). Clicking on the thumbnail will reveal a larger version of the image. Even bigger and better versions of each can be found elsewhere in the Gallery though. Clicking on an unrevealed image will only show you a bigger version of the thumbnail, or nothing.

Obviously all the pictures are of Kathryn, but I’ve chosen a set of pictures of our girl really smiling. 25 great smiles. What could be more Xmasy than that?

Unfortunately I only came up with this idea yesterday so I’m already a few days behind. Tomorrow I will start “opening doors” revealing 2 at a time until we catch up.

You can find the advent calendar HERE, and I have added a link in the menu on the right to make it easier to get to.

Update: Thanks to zoé for the Xmas themed ‘K’ logo. It looks great.

I’m back in a situation where I can update KM UK as normal. Expect my normal HD screencaps from the two most recent episodes of Cold Case to appear in the next day or so.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Kathryn for not attending any events during the downtime so I would not miss photos of her at them
