Fellow obsessive and YouTube user Katie (kayandvivi) has been getting into the spirit already with a countdown of videos on her new Kathryn Morris FTW YouTube channel.  We have not yet opened the fan art video wing of the KM UK Gallery.  Perhaps we will be cutting the ribbon in a few days time.

Hopefully the festive spirit has put you, or some talented friends, in an artistic mood and reaching for your mouse and copy of Photoshop.  The KM UK Gallery is full to bursting of great source material so you should be able to find something to fit an existing idea or to spark new ones.  Perhaps Kathryn’s recent appearance in her red pullover has lit a light-bulb above your head?

I’m not anticipating this being a very busy role and as this is a first for the site the exact nature of the job is somewhat undefined.  Obviously, there is a Kathryn Morris-based element.

This is short notice but there maybe a job for you this weekend to start things off.

The on set photo of Kathryn with a young actress was a fortuitously recent acquisition.  The girl makes a very brief appearance towards the end of the episode as Lilly & Kat searches a house.  So far we’ve have been unable to find her name.  If you know please contact us so we can give her the proper credit.  Thank to IcyWinter for her help.

Andrew Corkin, one of the producers on Kathryn’s new short film Sunday’s Mother, has been kind enough to grant KM UK exclusive access to the production.  We will be brining you news, photos and video from the set.

Kathryn is going to make a new short film!  It’s called Sunday’s Mother and she is playing the role of Gillian Marks, mother of troubled boy Sunday.

In the project’s own words:  Sunday’s Mother is a dramatic coming-of-age short film about the conflict and paranoia a timid highschooler, Sunday (Chase Ellison), goes through when he is blackmailed by the school bully who threatens to tell everyone that he had sex with Sunday’s mother (played by Cold Case’s Kathryn Morris).

Award winner Aaron Jackson wrote the screenplay and will direct the film.  Riley Smith (Joan Of Arcadia) plays Jason, a “love interest” for Gilloan.  The role of Roger the bully is, as yet, not cast.

I’ve been in contact with Aaron and producer Andrew Corkin.  They have confirmed that Kathryn is “100% locked in” to the project, which is fantastic news.  Production is due to start on the 8th of July.

I say “due to start” because these things are rarely as simple as that.  It takes money to make a film and this is where you, dear reader, can make a difference.  Together we can help get this film, starring our favourite lady, made.  To raise money for Sunday’s Mother Aaron is looking for pledges to be made via the website Kickstarter.  You can find the  Sunday’s Mother page HERE, it has details of the rewards you can receive for pledging.  A mere $50 will get you a “Thank you” credit in the film.

KM UK will be doing whatever it can to support this project.  You can help by spreading the word.  Tell everyone you know about the film and send them to the Sunday’s Mother page for your pledges.

Kathryn Morris (Happy Birthday – Project)

Finally it’s January! And in a few weeks our beloved Kathryn Morris will complete another year of life. The day is approaching.  We could do something no?  The idea is simple: make a video as a “gift”.  So, a few recommendations…

1. Take a picture with a label (or something like that) says “Happy Birthday” (or whatever you want).
2. The message on the label must be written in English.
3. Send your photo to email: kathrynmorrisbday@gmail.com
4. The deadline of submission of photos is up to Jan. 25.
5. Put your name, twitter… Something that identifies you.

As a final thought we mustn’t forget that Valentine’s Day is just a couple of weeks after that…  Last year zoé (of ColdCasePedia) did an amazing job for me putting together some fantastic banners on very short notice.  I’ll add those to the fan art gallery at the appropriate time.

I would like a few banners and buttons to be used as links to KMUK on other sites.  My abilities in this department have been proven to be lacking far too often for me to consider attempting such a thing myself.  So I wondering if you kind people would help?

Obviously the images would need to include something relating to Kathryn and the name of the site.  The “UK” thing, and the “look & feel” of this site might be worth considering as motifs.  The Gallery is full of potential source material.

There seem to be some common standards used for these things.  Banners of between 500px and 700px wide.  Buttons at around 100px wide.  An example of a button that I have already is one that TVFan kindly created for use on Pass The Remote (shown on the right) which is 100x40px.

All submissions will be showcased in the forthcoming Fan Art section of the Gallery.
